About me...

Abdelrahman Abdalaziz

Born and bred in Sudan, and as early as the Junior Secondary school level, I started writing short stories in the school bi-monthly gazette. My childhood dream was to become a sailor, or a journalist, so that I could travel all over the world and write about my travels. Family pressure pushed me into medical school. The study of medicine and working as a doctor hardly gave me any time to pursue literary work. As a result, this was put on the backburner for a long time. Having had a very successful and gratifying professional life (attained the level of Surgeon and Emergency Physician, and an Anatomist), I retired after working for forty-six years in Sudan, United Kingdom, and Dubai. At the moment I reside in the UK. I travel widely and write about my travels both in English and Arabic. I wrote my first book entitled “The Man Who Lost His Face”. I am writing my second book in Arabic entitled “Dialogue in the womb- is there life after delivery”.

I believe my diverse experiences from working in a war zone to exploring different cultures, bring authenticity and depth to my writing.
